While in Seward we travel downtown to the Alaska Sea Life Center to visit the only facility in Alaska that combines a public aquarium with marine research, education, and wildlife response. During our visit we learned about a baby male Pacific walrus calve that had been abandoned near Nome, Alaska on June 14 is now a resident in their I.Sea.U facility being stabilized and rehabilitated before he will be moved to a permanent aquarium or zoo where he will live out the rest of his life. We also enjoyed all the other animals that call the Sea Life Center home including some harbor seals, many sea birds and fish local to the area.
